The Ultimate Truth of JOY
It is very simple. If you cannot accept this as the truth it is, then for now at least accept that we would be a lot better off pretending it to be so.
We are one being - literally (individuality and separation is an illusion)
There is enough - but not distributed with equality or fairness at the moment (this will change)
Like often happens when you learn a new word for the first time, you suddenly see that word mentioned EVERYWHERE.
Now go search for the truth of this concept yourself. It can be found everywhere. Google "nondualisim."
Understand that since we are one (literally) anything you do to "another" you do to yourself. Give "another" something, you will be giving it to yourself. Hurt "another" you will hurt yourself.
This is the "WHY" behind the "Golden Rule."

Yes, Your Joyfulness, you make an articulate proposal for why joy is important. I am very glad you raised this whole subject of Joyism and bringing more experiences of joy into the world; it speaks to our ultimate human obligation, I believe. And there's more to it than this.
The reality of we humans is that we tend to default our ultimate responsibility for finding our truth to third party groups and ideologies who provide us with an authoritative, convenient and ultimately deceptive shorthand for the truth that we sense but haven't spent time/effort discovering for ourselves. Think of political parties, religions, gurus, brands and various "bibles"; we default our innate genius to some group or idea who will misappropriate us to further their own careers, commercial or political aims. It is our ultimate act of self deception.
So to know more of the truth, and encourage people to look and choose for themselves it could be necessary to look deeper than the "why" question.
"What" is Joy? What is the opposite? How do we seek out the Joy? How do we know Joy when it is near or present and then what are we called to do about it?
Upon years of occasional reflection, I have uncovered some of my truth, which I will offer here:
Joy and fear are fundamental and opposite human emotional/physiological states. Remember, I am offering here what I believe to be true, based only on my own experiences. I believe that True Love is the source of the human experience called Joy and fear: Love is like light that is freely available to anyone in the Universe/Mutliverse. Joy is our experience of being in the light. Fear is our experience of being in the shadow. Fundamentally, I can argue, humans exist to experience True Love as fully as possible (this is why we make children, feed and protect ourselves; it keeps us available and exposed to True Love).
Humans yearn for the light; it is our need, our obligation. Yet our workplaces, neighbourhoods, media and the decisions made by those to whom we default our responsibilities are endemically fearful. It is paradoxical that we yearn for the light and clothe ourselves in shadow.
So, bringing this home, the key to bringing Joy is to understand it and its opposite, it's resonance with our basic needs and identity as human beings, to we know the physiological and emotional states of being when joy is being experienced and amplified in groups. Then we can "program" or make happen activities and experiences which trigger the Joyful experience.
